Todd graduated from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served aboard the USS Cape Cod (AD-43). After receiving an Honorable Discharge, Todd returned home and was hired as a deputy with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He spent the next 16 years in full-time law enforcement, moving on to the Pasadena Police Department and then to the Montgomery County Precinct Three Constable’s Office.

Todd obtained numerous awards and certifications along the way: Master Peace Officer; Intoxilyzer Operator; Crime Scene Investigator; Advanced Accident Investigator; Police Instructor; Field Training Officer; and, he was voted Officer of the Year in 2005 by his fellow officers.

During his time in law enforcement, Todd worked his way through college, first earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University where he graduated magna cum laude, and then a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law Center where he graduated in the top third of his class.

He then served as a prosecutor with the Walker County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Huntsville, Texas, a district court chief in charge of all felony prosecutions in the 12th Judicial District Court, and then came back to Conroe where he served as a prosecutor with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.

He was the head prosecutor for all of the Justice of the Peace courts in Montgomery County until he left the District Attorney’s office in September 2017. Todd has extensive trial experience from felonies where a life sentence was at stake all the way down to traffic violations.

In January 2018, Todd earned the prestigious distinction of becoming Board Certified in Criminal Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

When he’s not working, Todd gets rid of the coat and tie as quickly as possible and you’ll find him doing anything outdoors. He enjoys hunting, fishing, building things, and pretty much anything outdoors.
